THE LONG FIRE

Fire-led outdoor gatherings and feasts across Scotland.

Long lunches. Open-fire dinners. Outdoor gatherings built around food, landscape, and time outside. For private clients, brands, retreats, and celebrations.

WHAT THIS IS

The Long Fire creates outdoor dining experiences built around live fire cooking, seasonal food, and shared time in nature. We design and host gatherings where food is cooked over fire and served as it is ready, allowing the pace of the event to follow the fire, not a schedule. These are structured but unhurried outdoor experiences. Part dining, part hosting, part atmosphere. Nothing staged. Nothing overproduced. Everything centred around fire, food, and place.

SIGNATURE EXPERIENCES

The Longest Lunch

A slow fire-cooked lunch experience unfolding over several hours outdoors. Shared seasonal dishes served as they come from the fire, with wine, conversation, and time to settle. For 12–30 guests.

After Dark

An evening fire dinner that moves from structured dining into a looser, late-night atmosphere. Built for celebrations, private gatherings, brands and creative events. For 10–40 guests.

Private Fire Gatherings

Tailored outdoor dining experiences built around your location, guests, and occasion. We design and run the fire cooking, atmosphere, and service for private clients, retreats, and brands. Minimum guest numbers and pricing vary by scale.

WHO IT’S FOR

Private clients, brands, and hosts who want something more memorable, atmospheric, and grounded than a standard catered event. People who care about:

  • food cooked well

  • setting and place

  • how time feels in a gathering

  • shared experience over performance

  • how a gathering actually feels

ABOUT

The Long Fire is led by Ruaridh Emslie — a chef, adventurer and host creating fire-led experiences across the UK.
